Vedic Meditation Course
What is Vedic Meditation
Vedic Meditation is an effortless technique and only requires 20-mins of practice twice a day. Vedic Meditation uses a particular type of mantra (mind vehicle) to trigger deep rest (deeper than sleep) in the mind and body. You sit comfortably, close your eyes for 20-mins and let the mantra, and the body's healing intelligence, do the work for you.
When we take the step to learn Vedic Meditation, we don’t have to wait long to feel the benefits. From as early as the first week, our students report increased feelings of calm and happiness, a lessening of reactivity and a heightened enthusiasm for life.
Why learn?
In this 21st-century life, we all lead busy, active lives with more to do and seemingly less time than ever before.
This constant requirement to be available and desire to have things ‘now’; amongst other environmental and cultural factors, has led society, in general, to be stressed; and not just stressed…but continually stressed. We have normalised operating in ‘fight or flight’ mode, and our physical, mental and emotional well-being has suffered.
Many of us feel that something is missing or that there is more to be had in life. We end up looking for something outside of us rather than looking within to find the solution. It might seem crazy, but there is a place that is the source of all of our happiness and fulfilment, and it is this place that we have access to during meditation.
The Course
The course* consists of 4 x 60/90-minute sessions over four consecutive days where you’ll receive personalised instruction in Vedic Meditation.
Your practice of the technique will be complemented with in-depth knowledge, giving you an opportunity to practice and gain a comprehensive understanding of the;
Mechanics of the technique
Mind-body connection and cycle of stress release
Experiences you may have and how to integrate meditation into your daily life
All four sessions must be attended, as knowledge is delivered each day sequentially.
Autumn Equinox Ceremony Cacao • Yin Yoga • Sound Meditation • Yoga Nidra
As the wheel of the year turns and we arrive at the Autumn Equinox, we enter a moment of natural balance — where day and night are equal, and the energy begins its gentle shift inward.
This seasonal threshold invites us to pause, reflect, and honour the journey of the year so far. It is a time to soften, release what is no longer needed, and reconnect with ourselves before the quieter months ahead.
Join us for a sacred evening of ritual, rest and deep nourishment as we gather in community to mark this transition together. Our ceremony will begin with ceremonial cacao, a heart-opening plant medicine traditionally used to support connection, reflection and intention setting. From there, we will move into a slow and grounding Yin Yoga practice, allowing the body to soften and release held tension.
Throughout the practice, you will be immersed in sound meditation, using vibration and tone to calm the nervous system and bring the mind into stillness.
We will close the evening with a deeply restorative Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation often referred to as yogic sleep, allowing the body and mind to fully integrate and rest.
This evening is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your inner rhythm, and honour the changing season.
What to Expect
• Ceremonial cacao
• Gentle Yin Yoga
• Sound meditation
• Guided Yoga Nidra
• A nurturing and supportive space for reflection and rest.
Thursday March 19th 5:30pm – 7:30pm
This ceremony is suitable for all levels and requires no previous experience.
Come as you are, and allow yourself the space to soften, reflect, and receive.
Sip & Bead - One Year of Us
To celebrate one year of Geraldton Pilates & Yoga, we are inviting our beautiful community to come together for something a little special.
Over the past year we have witnessed so many of you make the powerful decision to show up for yourselves — to step onto the mat, to move your body, to breathe, to nourish yourselves and reconnect with who you are. Whether you’ve been with us since the very beginning, or you’ve only just joined our community, your commitment matters.
To honour that commitment, we will be hosting a Bead & Sip Celebration. Together we will create a handmade necklace, a small but meaningful symbol of the promise you have made to yourself to continue showing up for your body, your wellbeing and your life.
As we bead our necklaces, we’ll share a glass of champagne, enjoy some delicious nibbles, and spend time connecting with the beautiful community that makes GPY so special. This gathering is not just about celebrating the studio’s first birthday.
It’s about celebrating you — the courage it takes to prioritise your health, your movement and your self-care.
📅 Saturday March 14th
⏰ 11:00am – 2:00pm
📍 Sunflower Studio
Our morning classes will run as usual, so you are welcome to join us for a class beforehand and then meet at Sunflower Studio afterwards. Or head home for a quick change before we gather at 11am.
We can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with you.
With love, Sherilee & the GPY community 🤍
